After visiting Vernon Center, we drove down to Washington, DC, where Andrea was slated to attend the American Chemical Society convention. We arrived a couple days early for that and the four of us crammed in a fair amount of touristing. We saw the memorials below (went up in the Washington Monument), viewed selected exhibits in many of the museums on the Mall, and even toured the White House (long wait in line for a non-guided, but quite crowded, tour).
